In the 1970's, the LGBTQ community was in the midst of a battle for equal rights - a shift in status where we were now demanding power, taking it. So, unless you've been hiding under a rock, it's without a doubt that you've seen this flag countless times.īut how did this particular flag become the symbol of LGBTQ pride?
